Man detained after police chase in Cullman

CULLMAN — Cullman police have detained a man after a car chase that started on U.S. 278 East and ended along 11th Street near Arbor East subdivision.

At least six Cullman patrol cars were involved in the chase, which started near College Bridge and wound back through city neighborhoods, said Craig Greem, assistant police chief. The chase started around 3:15 p.m.

“The driver stopped, got out of the car and ran, but he’s now in custody,” Green said.

The reason for the chase is unclear at this time, but Green said additional information will soon be released.
