Jamey Johnson added to Rock the South lineup

Jamey Johnson is the latest addition to the second annual Rock the South lineup.

The announcement was made by organizers of the event Friday night.

Johnson, an Alabama native, is best known for his Top 10 hit “In Color", as well as “High Cost of Living,” which managed to crack the Top 40. Both were on his 2008 gold-certified album, “That Lonesome Song.”

Johnson was nominated for the CMA Awards New Artist of the Year in 2009 and the Academy of Country Music Top New Solo Vocalist in 2010.

He joins Hank Williams, Jr., and Gregg Allman, who were announced earlier in the day, on the list of artists set to perform at the two-day festival June 21-22 and Heritage Park. American Idol winner Scotty McCreery, The Band Perry, and Sara Evans are also scheduled to perform.

Ashley Graves can be reached by phone at 734-2131, ext. 225, or by email at agraves@cullmantimes.com
