CULLMAN —
With qualifying for the City of Cullman’s municipal election set to begin in just a few weeks, officials have scheduled an election class to prep potential candidates on what they’ll need to do if they plan to seek office.
All candidates and potential candidates for city office are invited to attend a informational meeting at 7 p.m. on July 2 in the city hall auditorium.
“We’ll be going over all the information needed, so anyone who wants to be a candidate will know what they need to do to qualify,” city accountant Wes Moore said. “We’ll go over everything, so when they get their election packet they’ll know what to do with it.”
Qualifying begins at 8 a.m. on July 3, and ends on July 17, and the election will be held on August 28.
Anyone seeking city office must be a resident of the city for at least 90 days prior to the election; be a registered voter; and must pay a $50 qualifying fee.
