A six-year-old boy was hit by a car while riding his bicycle in Cullman Thursday evening, and died from injuries sustained in the crash.
The accident occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m. in the Carroll Acres subdivision.
“The boy just did not see the car and the driver did not have time to react,” Cullman assistant police chief Craig Green said.
Green said authorities are treating the case as a traffic accident.
After the accident, the child was reportedly tranferred to Cullman Regional Medical Center, where he died from injuries sustained in the crash.
Police have not released the identity of the victim at this time.
