CULLMAN — Weather: There is a 20 percent chance of rain today in Cullman Co., with a projected high in the low-70s.

Upcoming events and meetings:

The Cullman County Board of Education has set a Section 16 land committee meeting for Thurday, May 16 at 4 p.m. at the central office. Members of the public will be able to come and discuss the system's land project with the volunteer board tasked with developing a plan.

Strawberry Fest starts soon: The Cullman Strawberry Fest is set for Friday-Saturday at Festhalle Market Platz in downtown Cullman. Organizers have a large live music line-up, crafts, games and fresh Cullman Co. fruits and vegetables will be on sale.

Ladies' Expo set for June 8: The Cullman Ladies' Expo will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. June 8, the Elks Lodge in Cullman. There will be 34 vendors selling products, providing health tips and sharing their services. The Elks Lodge will also sell concessions during the event.

A dollar donation at the door will help support the "Leader In Me" program at Garden City Elementary. The program is based on teaching the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People to young children. The dollar donation also registers you for a chance to win a door prize donated by the vendors.
