CULLMAN — Good morning, readers, this is what's happening in your county today:

Traffic:

A portion of Warnke Road is closed for repairs; there’ll be traffic delays on Swafford Road for curb repairs; and curb installations on 10th St. at 3rd Ave. NE; possible traffic delays at both sites. Drivers should be cautious of the workers who’ll be in and out of the road.

Weather:

Today: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 80. East wind around 5 mph.

Tonight: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 63. East wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Saturday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 82. Calm wind becoming northeast around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Saturday night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 64. Calm wind.

Sunday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 85. East wind 5 to 10 mph.

Sunday night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 67.

Best bets for today and beyond:

Rockin’ for Change event: The band, Exit 310, will perform at The Link of Cullman County Rockin’ for Change concert event at Depot Park from 6 to 10 p.m. today. Cost is $5, children 10 years and younger are free. Bring lawn chairs.

Concessions will be available. There’ll also be raffles - tickets may be purchased on site; also, free face painting and balloon animals and a bouncy house for the kids.

Proceeds to benefit The Link, a local faith-based non-profit working to overcome the barriers of poverty by providing support services. Info: The Link office at 256-775-0028.

‘Joy’ concert for the March of Dimes: The March of Dimes will have Percy Sledge in concert at 8 p.m. Aug. 17, at TPCC, 700 Pine Hill Drive, Cullman 35057; doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets may be purchased by contacting Amber Lamote, chairman for the event, at 256-338-8410 or Hannah Hicks, TPCC events coordinator, at 256-739-0720.
