One injured in Tuesday night accident; Saturday fatality still under investigation

One person was injured during a single-vehicle accident late Tuesday on U.S. Highway 278.

It occurred 12 miles west of Cullman at 10:55 p.m.

According to reports from Alabama State Troopers, Cory Steele, 37, of Cullman was injured in the wreck. He was the driver of a 2013 Chevrolet and was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

A Trooper spokesperson said the cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Meanwhile, the single-vehicle accident that left a Bremen man dead Saturday is still under investigation.

Steven Chandler, 35, was driving a 1976 Ford pickup truck when the accident occurred at 12:15 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16. According to the Trooper reports, he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

The wreck happened on County Road 35, 10 miles southwest of Dodge City.
