CULLMAN —
A mid-day accident Friday sent two Blount County men to the hospital following a single-vehicle accident west of Interstate 65.
The accident occurred on U.S. Highway 278 one mile west of Cullman at approximately 12:15 p.m. Friday.
Both the driver and passenger of the vehicle, a 2002 Dodge, were transported to Cullmen Regional Medical Center for undisclosed injuries each sustained in the accident.
Alabama State Troopers said neither the driver — 70 year-old John Calloway of Blountsville — nor the passenger — 46 year-old Timothy Calloway of Blountsville — was wearing a seat belt when the accident occurred.
Troopers were also called to the scene of an accident on County Road 223 around 7 p.m. Friday, but no injuries were reported. The road was blocked for a short time as responders cleared the vehicles from the road.
