CULLMAN — Three Cullman residents were injured Thursday morning in a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Saint Joseph Drive and Highway 157.
“At 10:27 a.m. a car ran the light at Saint Joseph Street and hit the oncoming vehicle southbound on Highway 157,” Cullman Police officer Adam Clark said.
Twenty-two-year-old James Richard, driver of the Pontiac G6 that allegedly ran the light, was injured along with two passengers: Tonya Yates, 27, and Jackie Jenkins, 38, according to city police reports.
Yates was placed on a stretcher and transported from the scene by ambulance to Cullman Regional Medical Center.
She was being treated in the emergency room as of Thursday afternoon.
Police at the scene reported the injuries to Richards and Jenkins as minor, though they were also sent to CRMC for further medical attention.
The Pontiac G6 struck a 2007 GMC truck driven by Mike Mabry, of Oneonta. Mabry and an unidentified passenger were not injured in the crash.
