Alleged Holly Pond meth-maker arrested
CULLMAN — An alleged Holly Pond meth-maker is behind bars.
According to Cullman County Sheriff’s reports, deputies arrested Steven Thomas Edge, 31, Friday for unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance in the first degree. Edge was arrested at his residence, located on Highway 91 in Holly Pond.
Cullman County Sheriff Tyler Roden said deputies recently received information from the community concerning Edge’s alleged activities.
When deputies arrived at the residence, they established probable cause to search the premises, then called in for assistance from the Cullman Narcotics Enforcement Team (CNET).
“They discovered a meth lab in an outbuilding next to the residence,” Roden said. “It was in the process of making meth.”
Roden added that deputies allegedly recovered a small amount of finished meth and chemicals used to make the drug.
Decontamination of the area was not required.
Roden wanted to thank the citizens who provided the information that led to the arrest.
“This is a good example of how citizens sometimes provide us with the right information,” Roden said.
Edge is incarcerated at the Cullman County Detention Center on a $1 million bond.
Unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance in the first degree is a Class A felony, punishable by up to life in prison.
