WEST POINT —
A car struck the back of a Cullman County school bus from the West Point district early Thursday morning, though no children were injured in the crash. The driver of the vehicle reportedly sustained some minor injuries.
The accident occurred at approximately 7:10 a.m. on Ala. Hwy. 157, near the R.E. Garrison trucking office.
Superintendent Billy Coleman said the accident seems to have occurred during a student pick-up.
“You’re obviously a little shook-up when things like this happen, but we’re very thankful no students were hurt,” he said. “We, of course, contacted the parents and let them know everything was okay.”
The system had a second bus sent to the location to ferry the affected students to campus, and Coleman said they were still able to make it in time for the start of the school day.
