A Cullman man was killed late Monday evening in a one-vehicle crash in Vinemont when his vehicle reportedly ran off the road and struck a tree.
Levi Daniel Williams, 31, of Cullman, died Monday at 6:15 p.m. when the 2007 Chevrolet he was driving ran off County Road 1354 three miles east of Vinemont.
He was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma.
The exact cause of the crash is still under investigation by Alabama State Troopers, though weather is expected to be a factor. Rain and heavy fog were reported in the area around the time of the crash.
Williams was wearing a seatbelt.
The crash marked the 62nd fatality reported in the state of Alabama during 2014, up from approximately 52 fatalities reported to date in 2013.
Williams was a 2000 graduate of Fairview High School. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, February 20 at Cullman Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Tim Lipsey officiating. Interment is set for Center Grove Cemetery.
