Sleet, snow expected Monday afternoon; difficult driving conditions likely

CULLMAN — A strong winter storm packing sleet and snow is expected to arrive in Cullman County around 3 p.m. Monday.

Area residents can expect an accumulation of mainly snow of 2 to 4 inches. The wintry mix is expected to fall through Tuesday morning across the region.

The National Weather Service is reporting that travel in north Alabama and southern middle Tennessee could become difficult as the snow and sleet falls.

Monday’s high is expected to reach 41 degrees but will fall to at least 29 degrees during the evening hours. The high on Tuesday will be 36 with the low dipping to 31.

The Cullman County Emergency Management Agency is expected to release additional details of the potential local impact of the weather.
