The Cullman County Sheriff’s Office has detained two men they believe could be involved in the possible murder of a woman early Sunday evening.
Sheriff Mike Rainey confirmed a woman was found dead in a vehicle near County Road 38 at approximately 5:30 p.m. Sunday evening. Authorities are treating the case as a homicide. The woman’s identity and the cause of death have not been released, as deputies are still working to notify the next of kin — but Rainey said the victim had recently been reported as a missing person.
Two men that authorities believe are involved in the case were picked up by deputies on County Road 520 at approximately 10 p.m. following a brief manhunt. They are currently being questioned.
Rainey said his office should have more details to release Monday morning.
