CULLMAN —
The Cullman Times is now accepting recipes for their fifth cookbook, Remember When, to be published in August 2010. Categories are: From Cullman Farms, Appetizers, Side Dishes, Main Dishes, Desserts and Healthy Choices. Submitters should print or type their recipes, emailed or on full sheet of paper, complete with your name, address and daytime phone number. ONE recipe per email or sheet of paper with requested information preferred.
Mail or bring in to 300 4th Ave. SE, Cullman, AL 35055; or email to cookingcontest@cullmantimes.com. Those faxing their recipes may do so to 256-736-2972 at ATTN: Cooking Contest. Deadline for submission is 5 p.m. July 2.
The top three choices from each category will be asked to prepare the dish for judging and photos on July 20th.
In keeping with this year’s theme, Remember When, submitters may write a short paragraph about the recipe and memories invoked by it, along with the recipe.
Volumes II, III and IV are still available at The Times at a special price; or all three for $10.

County commission move to clean up storm-damaged waterways

To call the past year a hard one for Cullman Christian School would be an understatement. The school’s original facility at East Side Baptist Church was destroyed in the April 27, 2011 tornadoes, and plans to build a new campus are stalled due to a zoning dispute with the City of Cullman.
