Strong to severe storms expected by Tuesday evening

CULLMAN — Temperatures are expected to climb above normal into the first part of the week across the Tennessee Valley, bringing strong to severe storms Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

A strong cold front is forecast to approach the Tennessee Valley from the west, bringing widespread showers and thunderstorms.

Some of these storms will likely be strong to severe, with damaging winds and locally heavy rainfall possible. The stronger storms are expected Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, the weather service reported.

Much colder temperatures will follow for the remainder of the work week.
