CULLMAN — Authorities have opened all of Alabama Highway 69 from Jasper to Cullman County following a bomb threat early this morning.

The final check of a bridge west of Jasper is under way and should be completed in the next half hour.

Walker Baptist Hospital was evacuated and all bridges were closed along Alabama Highway 69 in Walker County because of bomb threats received around 8:15 a.m. this morning.

Walker County Emergency Management Agency Interim Director Regina Myers said the caller reported there was a bomb on an unspecified bridge on Highway 69 and one in the hospital in Jasper.

The Jasper Fire Department blocked-off bridges, while hospital patients were sent to several churches and other designated areas.

Motorists were detoured away from Alabama Highway 69 throughout the day.
