CULLMAN — Good morning, readers, take a look at what’s going on today:

Traffic:

The Cullman City Street Department will have a patch crew on W. Main Ave., the streets around Town Square Shopping Center, Monterey St. SW, Longbrook Dr. NE, and the parking area at 615 3rd Ave. SE.

Weather:

Today: Partly sunny, with a high near 70. Light northwest wind becoming west 5 to 10 mph in the morning.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 45. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Best bets for today:

Jam session: The Town of South Vinemont will hold a jam session at 6 p.m. today at the Cary C. Montgomery Scout Community Center, 88 Ridgeway St., Cullman 35058.

Rummage sales: Here are a couple of yard sale in the area today and this weekend:

• An indoor rummage sale will be held from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, at the Old Todd’s Outdoors Building, 9936 U.S. Highway 278 E, Holly Pond 35083. Cash only. All proceeds to go to the Women’s shelter, Daystar House Inc., a United Way Agency of Cullman County.

• Trinity Lutheran Church, 505 Commercial St., Hanceville 35077, will hold a rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. today, and from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday. Funds raised will go to sanctuary repairs and will be supplemented by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.

Parkside School’s Bingo night: Parkside School will host a Bingo night from 6 to 8 p.m. today, in the school lunchroom, 12431 Highway 69 N, Baileyton 35019. Cards are $1 to $5, with Bingo markes available for purchase. There will also be door prizes and a silent auction. Concessions available. All proceeds to go to the school.

Holly Pond FFA plant sale: The Holly Pond FFA greenhouse is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at the school (160 New Hope Road, Holly Pond 35058). Bedding plants, geraniums, hanging baskets and tomato plants available. Several colors and varieties to choose from. All proceeds go to help fund FFA activities. Info: school office at 256-796-5120.
