CULLMAN — Approximately 25 percent of the Cullman Electric Cooperative members will lose power for approximately 30 minutes tonight at 11 p.m. The north Cullman substation will be shut down due to a “hot spot” being found via infrared thermography.
The substation will be turned off while crews from the co-op, Cullman Power Board and TVA handle the problem that could eventually lead to overheating and failure at the station.
Areas likely to be affected by the outage include Trimble, Berlin, Holly Pond, Jones Chapel and other areas.
