City implements voluntary water restrictions

CULLMAN — With dry conditions expected to continue for at least another week, the City of Cullman is now asking local residents to take voluntary steps to use less water.

Local water source Lake Catoma has dipped to approximately five feet below full pool, and officials want to slow the lake’s drop by decreasing the new demands created by the high temps.

No rain is expected for at least another week, and if dry weather persists, additional measures could potentially be taken in the coming weeks.
