CULLMAN — Tickets for the upcoming Rock The South concert festival, featuring country music stars Dierks Bentley and Kellie Pickler, are slated to go on sale Friday at 10 a.m.
Advance tickets will be available for $10 at the event’s official website, or at the Cullman Wellness and Aquatic Center, Borden Family Pharmacy, the Cullman Civic Center and Cabin Fever.
The concert, set for April 27 at Heritage Park, is sponsored by the City of Cullman and Cullman Parks and Recreation. Officials hope it will serve as an annual celebration and time of remembrance for the damage done during the April 27, 2011 tornadoes that hit the state and caused significant damage across Cullman County.
Additional musical acts will likely be announced in the coming weeks.
A total of 500 VIP seats, part of the “Cabin Fever VIP Package,” will also be available for $50 each. The deal includes a guaranteed spot near the stage, a Rock the South T-shirt and a private bathroom and vending area.
It has also been announced that the parks department is teaming up with licensed, independent vendors to sell beer at the festival. Security will be on hand, and officials say they do not anticipate any issues.
Organizers are still in the early stages of signing up event sponsors, though Bolin said positive word of mouth has already filled several spots. Sponsorship slots range from $20,000 to $1,000, depending on placement and promotion.
“We haven’t even started soliciting, and we’ve already gotten like five or six,” city parks marketing representative Leah Bolin said. “It’s a real community event.”
