The Cullman Times
A star spangled night is guaranteed for anyone who finds their way to Smith Lake Park Monday.
Three days of music and fun capped with a bright, loud shebang — all in the honor of Old Glory — is what the annual Smith Lake Park Fourth of July Celebration is about.
That hasn’t changed this year.
The annual event will kick off with a series of concerts, headlined by Horizon, beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday. The celebration will conclude with an Independence Day fireworks show Monday at 9 p.m.
Because Cullman County is dry, alcoholic beverages are legally prohibited at Smith Lake Park. Cullman County Sheriff’s Office deputies will be on site throughout the holiday weekend enforcing the law.
Horizon, Braver by the 2 and Awaiting Days will provide the musical entertainment Saturday. The Sunday schedule is Horizon, Knightwing and Longshot, with the show beginning at 2 p.m.
The Heaton Brothers, 40G and Horizon will take the stage on Independence Day.
City residents looking for something a little closer to town can check out the fireworks display at Heritage Park sponsored by Desperation Church. Food vendors will be on hand starting at 7 p.m. with the fireworks show starting at 9 p.m.
