Traffic news:
The Cullman County Road Department is currently performing maintenance on County Road 522; and paving on County Road 384 . Regular maintenance, including bushhogging, continues throughout the county.
The Cullman City Street Department reports that an asphalt patching crew in working in several areas throughout the day.
Weather:
Today: Sunny, with a high near 90. East wind around 5 mph.
Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 66. Northeast wind around 5 mph.
Ongoing:
Park Art program registration: The Cullman Arts Council is now taking reservations for this summer’s program. Park Art will be from July 16-20, from 9 a.m. to noon each day at The Arts Center, 1609 3rd St. SE, Cullman 35055.
Activities will include theater, water color, drawing, sculpting and pottery.
For children ages 5 through 12 years (no on-site registration this year), cost is $50, with a discount for families registering more than one child: second child is $40; third child is $30. Price of registration includes a Park Art T-shirt. Make checks payable to “Cullman Arts Council.”

Blood shortage: Blood donations are needed. Donors must be 17 or older, or 16 with parental permission, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and be in good health. A photo ID is also required. Call LifeSouth toll-free at 888-795-2707 to find a blood drive near you. Included is a listing of all blood drives in this area for this week.
Those desiring to donate may visit the Cullman Donor Center, 112 Clark St. NE, Cullman 35055. Hours are Monday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Tuesday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Swamp John’s dinner: The Vinemont Basketball teams (both boys and girls) are holding a Swamp John’s dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. June 23, at the building at 6253 County Road 222, Cullman 35057. Live entertainment provided by band, Delirious.
