Small plane makes emergency landing in Berlin field after running low on fuel

CULLMAN —

A small-engine plane made an emergency landing in a Cullman County field late Tuesday morning, after reportedly running out of fuel during flight.

The Cullman County Sheriff’s Office is responding to the scene, though Major Scott Clay reports there have been no injuries reported. The identity, and origin, of the pilot is unknown at this time.

The plane reportedly landed just off County Road 7201, near U.S. Highway 278 East in the Berlin community at approximately 10:15 a.m. Clay said it took authorities a few minutes to pinpoint the site, due to conflicting reports from the tower when it initially landed.
