Suspect’s name in Fairview Trailer Park shooting released (WITH PHOTO)

— Authorities have confirmed the name of the suspect accused of shooting and killing a Hispanic man at Fairview Trailer Park on Saturday, March 30.

Cullman County Sheriff Mike Rainey confirmed that Gerry Silva, 28, of Fairview, is wanted for the Fairview shooting and is being sought by law enforcement officials.

Silva also goes by the aliases of Jerry Silva, Javier Silva, and Jose Serrano.

Silva is 5’8, with black hair, brown eyes, and a medium complexion. He weighs approximately 150 pounds and is described as stocky.

Silva was last seen in a black Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck immediately following the shooting at 2 p.m. March 30, at Fairview Trailer Park. Rainey said that law enforcement agencies across the nation were notified of the shooting and the suspect.

The shooting reportedly occurred following an altercation on Friday, March 29, and continued into Saturday, March 30.

Authorities said that if Silva is seen to use caution. He is possibly armed and dangerous.

He is believed to be en route to Mexico from Alabama. Silva also has family connections in Florida, North Carolina, and West Virginia.
