CULLMAN —
See some local homes all decked out for the holidays while supporting a good cause today on the Christmas Tour of Homes, benefitting the Haiti’s Eden mission nonprofit of the West Point First Baptist Church.
The tour, which runs from noon through 5 p.m., will highlight local residences including Stone Bridge Farms, the home of Dr. Harry & Leslie Blaylock at lake George, the home of Gerald and Kathy Wooten in the Patillo Subdivision and the home of Chris and Tanya King located in Lake George Estates.
The homes on the tour have been lavishly decorated for Christmas, making each stop an opportunity for guests to glean fresh decorating ideas as the holidays approach.
Tickets are $10, and can be purchased at any of the homes along the tour. A recommended itinerary is to visit Stone Bridge first, where maps and information will be available to direct guests to the other homes on the route.
Stone Bridge is located at 281 County Road 717 in Cullman, near Cullman Memory Gardens.
Every dollar raised from ticket sales will benefit Haiti’s Eden, a partnership between West Point First Baptist and the “Eden” community in Haiti. Missionaries from Cullman pay their own way to visit the Eden community at six-month intervals, where work is underway to construct a multipurpose building for a medical clinic, a church and classrooms where locals can learn usable job skills.
All funds raised go to help with the work in Eden — buying medicine for the clinic, paying for building supplies and educational materials. None of the missionaries uses any of the fundraising money to pay for trip expenses.
