CULLMAN —
Former first lady Jamelle Folsom of Cullman passed away today.
Details of Mrs. Folsom’s passing were not available. She was the wife of the late former Alabama Gov. James E. “Big Jim” Folsom Sr. Moss-Service Funeral Home in Cullman will be in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Folsom was not only first lady of Alabama, but the mother of Jim Folsom Jr., who also served as governor.
Jim Folsom Jr. said visitation will be Sunday 1-4 p.m. at Moss. The funeral will be at 2 p,m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Cullman.

Chamber seeking full-time tourism director; creates new board
The Cullman Area Chamber of Commerce is ramping up its focus on tourism, and is now seeking a full-time tourism director. The agency has also created a new, 11-person tourism board to focus solely on promoting travel and tourism in the area.
Plans to add a full-time tourism director have been in the works for almost a year, in cooperation with the City of Cullman and Cullman County Commission. -
