UPDATE: Police say robbery attempt unsuccessful; no injuries at scene

CULLMAN — Cullman police are saying an attempted robbery at the main branch of Traditions Bank today was unsuccessful and that no employees or residents were injured.

The attempted robbery was reported just before 1 p.m. today. 

Police are searching for a single suspect, believed to be a black male. Witnesses said the suspect allegedly left the scene driving a blue sedan, according to Cullman Police Chief Kenny Culpepper.
 
The bank, located on U.S. Highway 31 in downtown Cullman, had been temporarily closed as of 1:20 p.m. Monday. 
 
Investigators are still at the bank collecting evidence.
