AUBURN — The oak trees of Toomer’s Corner at Auburn University were burned when toilet paper they were draped in caught fire early Sunday morning.

The Opelika-Auburn News (http://bit.ly/Xpfpvm ) reported Sunday that the incident happened around 3:15 a.m., and that the trees and surrounding property were not seriously damaged.

The trees were draped in toilet paper following the school’s football victory over Alabama A&M.

Before catching fire, the trees were intentionally poisoned about two years ago by a University of Alabama football fan.

The fire is under investigation.
