Local food forum: Join the Cullman Local Food Dialogue at a free community meeting from 9:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 13, at the North Alabama Agriplex Heritage Center, 1714 Tally Ho St., SW, Cullman 35055. Topics to cover will be hunger issues, farming, education and food policy. Cullman is in a strategic position to have thriving local farms, a healthier community with a strong local food economy, but we need the entire community working together to make our community even better.

Singing convention: The annual Cullman County Singing convention will be from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 6, at the Senior Citizen building, 1539 Sportsman Lake Rd. NW, Cullman 35055. Covered dish lunch at noon. Anyone may attend.
Benefit yard sale spaces for rent: West Point Baptist Church’s Haiti’s Eden community yard sale will be from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 11, at West Point Town Hall, 3990 County Rd 1141 Vinemont  35179.
Cost to set up and sell is $10/spot. All proceeds benefit Haiti’s Eden.

CCSF Distinguished Alumni and Service Awards luncheon: The awards luncheon will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, April 12, at The Atrium, 3920 Highway 157, Cullman 35058. Tickets are available by contacting Dawn Klinger at 256-590-3159; deadline to order $25 tickets is Monday, April 8. Event catered by Designs By Grace.
Food Safety Certification class: The Cullman County Extension Office will offer a food safety certification class from 4 to 6 p.m. April 9, at the office at 402 Arnold St. NE. This is for those who will be selling their food at a farmers market or their own roadside stand. It is not a required class to sell your produce, but one may display the certificate at the stand/market to let customers know that you practice food safety.

4-H county roundup: The Cullman County 4-H Roundup will be at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 18, at the Cullman Extension Office, 402 Arnold St. NE, Cullman 35055. All members should bring their projects that won first-, second- or third-place ribbons to compete with other 4-H students in Cullman County.
