United Way names new marketing director

United Way of Cullman County has added a new member to its staff.

Amber Black, a Cullman native, was recently hired as marketing director of the non-profit organization, taking over the duties held formerly by Jacqueline Schendel.

“We are very excited to have Amber on board and look forward to the coming year,” executive director Kasey Kearce said.

Prior to her hiring, Black spent three years as foundation assistant for Cullman Regional Medical Center. While there, she was in charge of the foundation’s event planning for such events as the Million Dollar Hole-In-One golf tournament, Herman C. Ensor Lights of Love Tree Lighting Ceremony, For Kids’ Sake Variety Show, and the annual Spring Gala.

Black said she is looking forward to the new opportunity.

“I’m excited, and look forward to having my hands on more community involvement,” Black said.
