Freezing rain could cause ice accumulation of quarter-inch

CULLMAN — The National Weather Service has issued a freezing rain advisory that includes Cullman County.

The potential time of impact is midnight until 9 a.m. Friday. Accumulation of ice could reach a quarter-inch in the early morning hours.

After daybreak Friday, temperatures are expected to slowly rise and any freezing rain will turn to normal precipitation.

The greatest danger for motorists will be the chance of freezing on bridges and overpasses.
