The Cullman Times’ history book: The Cullman Times is currently soliciting photos and information for the 1950s and 1960s era of Cullman County for their history book - a nostalgic look back at people, churches, schools, businesses, etc., for that time frame. Those who’d like to share their pics from the Baby Boomer years, may email it, along with information about the photos, to cullmantimes@gmail.com (include your name and phone number for our records) or stop by and allow us to scan your photo for consideration in the upcoming book. We’ll be sure to credit you for providing those photos.
Free diabetes diet workshop: Health Sources’ Food For Life group will offer a class from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at the Cullman County Museum, 211 2nd Ave. NE, Cullman 35055. The class, “Defeating Diabetes II with a Plant-Based Diet,” is free of charge. Just call to reserve your spot, as class size is limited: Charles Maples at 256-412-4896. A cooking demonstration with tasting will be on the schedule.

Chamber seeking full-time tourism director; creates new board
The Cullman Area Chamber of Commerce is ramping up its focus on tourism, and is now seeking a full-time tourism director. The agency has also created a new, 11-person tourism board to focus solely on promoting travel and tourism in the area.
Plans to add a full-time tourism director have been in the works for almost a year, in cooperation with the City of Cullman and Cullman County Commission. -
Unsheltered International leads local effort to help storm victims
From their hometown of Cullman, to Joplin, Mo., and even Staten Island, NY., Dr. Travis Sharpe and members of Unsheltered International have provided hot meals, shelter, and delivered supplies to those in need after a natural disaster.
