CULLMAN —
A Cullman county man was booked into the Cullman County Detention Center Thursday after being arrested on drug trafficking charges.
According to a spokesperson with the Cullman County Narcotics Enforcement Team (CNET), Steven Kirk Potts was taken into custody after agents made a traffic stop on Broadway Avenue SW and found roughly one ounce of methamphetamine.
Agents charged Potts with one count of trafficking and one count of attempting to commit a controlled substance crime.
In an unrelated case, Cullman County Sheriff’s investigators are looking into the death of a Bremen man earlier in the week who was pronounced dead on arrival at Cullman Regional Medical Center.
Bobby Lee Simmons, 29, of Bremen, died Thursday.
Sheriff Mike Rainey said an autopsy was ordered but much of the results will not be known for several weeks.
