A Cullman based rock band will have a fundraiser to benefit Cullman Caring For Kids Food Bank on Friday, Jan. 30, at the Cullman Civic Center.
“We just wanted to do something to benefit the community,” Letisha Watson, member of local Christian rock band Revelation X said.
Revelation X, along with three other Christian bands will be performing at X-Fest.
Watson said people remember to help charities like the food bank during the Christmas season, but then forget the rest of the year.
“It was good timing,” Watson said. “We wanted to do something before Christmas, but it turned out they need assistance now. The food bank needs stocked up now.”
“We’re excited about the fact they want to help us,” Javon Daniel, of Cullman Caring for Kids said. “We definitely need the help right now and have to rely on the community.”
Daniel is thankful for the help the community continues to give the food bank.
“The community has helped us so much and we rely on them so much,” Daniel said.
Watson said three local bands will be performing and one from out of town.
“It’s going to be an awesome opportunity to come together for a time of worship and to help out our local food bank,” she said.
Revelation X mixes rock music and ministry to inspire people to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. They perform original music as well as praise and worship songs.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. The cost is $5 plus two cans of food.
“We want to help out local charities,” she said.
Along with Revelation X, 3 Times Down, She’On and The Jason Wilkins Band will also be performing.
