Cullman County Sheriff’s investigators arrested a Vinemont man Monday while he was allegedly in possession of meth manufacturing chemicals.

Joseph Paul Woods, 30 was charged with unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance in the first degree.

According to sheriff’s reports, investigators received a tip Monday that a meth lab was possibly being used at Woods’ residence, located on County Road 1284.

“Deputies and CNET (Cullman County Narcotics Task Force) agents responded to the scene and located various chemicals used in the manufacturing of meth,” said Chief Deputy Tony Quick. “No chemical products were found.”

Quick said investigators did not have to call in a HAZMAT team to clean up the excess chemicals.

“The lab was in a finished state and there was no need for decontamination,” Quick said.Woods is incarcerated at the Cullman County Detention Center on a $1 million bond.

Woods’ arrest marks the sheriff office’s third meth bust in less than a week. Investigators arrested Clayton Eugene Dillard Jr., 29, Amanda Jade Golladay, 24, and Jason Michael Reid, 28, all of Hanceville, at their residence on County Road 506 Friday on charges of manufacturing of a controlled substance in the first degree. John Adam Welch, 35 of Cullman was charged with meth manufacturing on Wednesday.

Unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance in the first degree is a Class A felony, punishable by up to life in prison.
