The Cullman Electric Cooperative will hold its 71st annual meeting at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Cullman High School Auditorium.
All 42,000 members in the Cullman area are encouraged to come out and enjoy the sounds of southern gospel group Brian Free and Assurance at 9:30 a.m., before voting on the new Board of Trustees .
Hot air balloon rides provided by Touchstone Energy, bucket truck lifts, arts and crafts along with games for children will be present, West Point High School Band boosters will serve hot dogs and drinks.
“The annual meeting is the single largest event for any Co-op,” Communications Coordinator Brian Lacey said. “It provides our members the opportunity to enjoy time with their family while voting for new board members.”
The business meeting starts promptly at 11 a.m. Co-op CEO Grady Smith will address those in attendance and announce the 2008 Board of Trusties. A 2008 Ford Ranger will be given away at the conclusion of the meeting, along with 20 winners allotted a $100 credit towards their power bill.
Trustee members up for election are Lynda Carter, Daryl Calvert, James Fields, Dan McMinn, Albert Michelfelder, Janet Rayl and Todd Self.
