CULLMAN — Good morning, readers, this is what's happening in your county today:



Traffic:



The Cullman County Road Department will be patching on County Road 438.



The Cullman City Street Department will continue work on 5th Ave. between 4th and 5th streets (widening and curbing).



Weather:



Today will be mostly sunny, with a high near 88. Calm wind becoming northwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Tonight will be partly cloudy, with a low around 63 - nice and cool - cocoa weather.



Best bets:



Calling all Americold workers: This quarterly dutch luncheon will be at 11:15 a.m. at Ryan’s Family Steakhouse, 1720 Cherokee Ave. SW, Cullman 35055, for all former employees, spouses and friends.



PALS group: Cullman County PALS will meet at 8 a.m. in the Cullman County Economic Development Office board room, 325 2nd St. SE), with Carl English as speaker on fair booth, state awards.

Of note:

School in this county will begin Aug. 20. School lunches for the county, city and Wallace State will be posted on our website beginning Sunday, Aug. 19.
