Authorities have arrested a woman who allegedly tried to strangle her mother.
Conqusta Dawn Atkins, 27, was taken into custody Thursday by Cullman County Sheriff's Deputies and charged with domestic violence strangulation. The incident occurred on July 29 at a home on Railroad Ave. NE.
According to Cullman County Sheriff Mike Rainey, reports indicate the incident stemmed from a physical altercation.
The mother was taken to Cullman Regional Medical Center to be evaluated and was later released.
Atkins is still being held in the Cullman County Detention Center.
