All but two candidates participating in the Cullman County municipal run-off elections met the Thursday filing deadline for their campaign expense reports.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7 for the municipal run-off elections. Citizens must bring a valid form of identification to vote.

According to the Alabama Fair Campaign Practices Act, candidates are required to file their contribution and expenditure reports 5-10 days before the election. Candidates who do not reach the expense or contribution threshold of $1,000 are not required to file a report, but asked to file a waiver of report.

“But they don’t have to file a waiver,” said Tammy Brown, chief clerk for the Cullman County Probate Office.

Brown said Cullman City School Board Place 1 candidate Kim Addison and Hanceville City Council Place 5 candidate James Sawyer were the only two who did not file any kind of report.

The rest came from Richard and Catherine Haggard of Cullman, June Brooks, Judson and Marion Davis and miscellaneous sources. Hauk reported $6,975.08 in advertising expenditures.

‰ Cullman City Council Place 1 candidate Wayne Walker reported a beginning balance of $4,712.88 and $150 in contributions from Ron Pierce of Cullman. He reported $1,641.25 in advertising expenditures.

‰ Cullman City Council Place 1 candidate Andrew Page reported a beginning balance of $231.44. He did not report any contributions but $1,061.85 in expenditures for advertising.

‰ Hanceville mayoral candidate Kenneth Nail reported a zero beginning balance and $2,604.50 in contributions from Hanceville Builders LLC, Charles Nail of Hanceville, Pete Contrerars of Hanceville, Cullman Liquidation, Patti and Jimmy Dean of Hanceville, Paul Nail of Fort Payne and miscellaneous sources. He reported $1,990.83 in expenditures for CVS Pharmacy, Dollar General, gasoline, Hobby Lobby, Wallace State Community College, Zippy Carwash and advertising.
