Police say child porn pictures found in home

By Patrick McCreless
The Cullman Times

Cullman County Sheriff’s investigators arrested a Dodge City man Thursday for allegedly making and distributing sexually explicit photographs of young boys.

Sheriff’s reports indicate more than 100 photos of boys under 17 years old were discovered after investigators served a search warrant at the home of 34-year-old James Lowell Langley. Also recovered during the search were three computers and a digital camera.

Sheriff Tyler Roden said his investigators suspect Langley used his equipment to take at least some of the recovered photos.

“He had a lot of printed out photos or ones that had been developed,” Roden said.

To date, investigators have not determined if any local boys are in the photographs.

“At this time, we are attempting to identify others who were possibly under the age of 17 that Langley had pictures of,” Roden said. “We don’t know who the kids are yet.”

Besides photographing children, investigators suspect Langley distributed his obscene material, mainly through the Internet.

“We’re still investigating who he was sending them to,” Roden said.

Roden added there was currently no information to indicate Langley was selling the photographs.

Investigators learned about Langley’s alleged activities last week.

“We received information that Langley was in possession of this obscene material,” Roden said. “Investigators with the crimes against persons unit began to investigate. Within the next couple of days, Langley was arrested.”

Langley was incarcerated at the Cullman County Detention Center but was released Saturday on a $20,000 bond.

Langley was charged with dissemination or public display of obscene matter containing visual depictions of individuals under 17 years old, which is a Class B felony and punishable by up to 20 years in prison.
