Cullman Police investigators are searching for suspects involved in three recent thefts, two of which could be related.
According to reports, the two supposedly related cases occurred on Wednesday and Thursday in the Pinewood Drive area. In the earlier case, a person or persons attempted to steal a John Deer riding lawnmower from a residence.
“The key wasn’t in the mower so they tried to push it,” said Capt. Max Bartlett of the Cullman Police Department. “They gave up pushing it away and the victim found it left in the road.”
The later incident occurred at a home not far from where the attempted theft took place.
“Due to the close proximity, we believe these incidents are connected to each other,” Bartlett said.
Reports indicate a red, 5 horsepower garden tiller worth $395, a white Bolen weedeater worth $139 and a green leaf blower worth $86 were taken from the residence.
The third, unrelated case took place between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m. Thursday at a residence on Brunner Street. The victim stated someone entered his home through an unlocked door and stole a Sony LCD television worth $1,700.
Anyone with information concerning the thefts are encouraged to call the Cullman Police Department at 775-7170 or 734-1434. A reward is offered for any information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
