CULLMAN —
We urgently need folks to call the members of the House Health Committee, especially if you are a constituent of anyone on the list.
Share with representatives how important it is to you that midwives are licensed to attend out-of-hospital births in Alabama. Emphasize that as their constituent, you need their vote for the midwife bill in committee. If they require more information, in order to gain their support, assure them you will obtain those resources for them to review. Just be sure to follow up quickly!
If you are not a constituent, simply explain that because of their position on the health committee, their vote on the midwife bill affects you, even though you are not in their district...and then share how important having midwives licensed to attend out-of-hospital births in Alabama is to you.
If you have a representative marked "supportive," please thank them, as their constituent, for their support of the midwife bill. There is no need to call supportive representatives if you are not their constituent.
Please report back to us with whom you've called, what the response was, and if a representative had questions: alabamabirthcoalitioninfo@gmail.com.
Thank you for for calling — you make the difference!
