Sheriff delivers on campaign promise

CULLMAN — I never doubted the campaign promise by Sheriff Mike Rainey that he would never personally profit from feeding prisoners. He promised to stop this revolting practice that had been a significant source of income for Cullman County sheriffs. Sheriff Rainey has not only stopped this practice, but is supporting legislation to prevent any Alabama sheriff from obtaining profits from feeding prisoners.

I'm also confident that Senator Paul Bussman and Representative Mac Buttram will lead legislative efforts to forever eliminate profits from feeding Alabama prisoners.
