Funeral services for Araneita Bradley Eidson will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008, at Christ Covenant Presbyterian Church, with interment in Cullman City Cemetery.
Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Eidson passed away peacefully at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Birmingham on Thursday morning, Oct. 9, 2008, after having suffered a stroke almost three years ago and a massive brain hemorrhage on Sept. 29. She was a graduate of St. Bernard College and UAB: Working for over 20 years as a special education teacher at Cullman Middle School. After that she was involved in the building of the original Cullman County Center for the Developmentally Disabled (CCCDD) building at its present site as well as director of the facility for three years prior to full-time retirement.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Byron J. Bradley; a brother, K.S. Bradley; and her in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. John L. Eidson.
Survivors include her husband, James “Buddy” Eidson; two sons, James Eidson Jr. and Brad (Sue) Eidson; a daughter, Michelle (Matt) Schultz; nine wonderful grandchildren, Taylor, Anna, Hayes and Grace Eidson, Hanson, Joseph, Grissom, Jacob and Caroline Schultz; a sister, Georgia Crumbley; and a sister-in-law, Jessie Bradley; as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
Flowers are welcome or suggested donations to Christ Covenant Presbyterian Church or First United Methodist Church, Cullman or St. Michaels Catholic Church in Auburn, Ala.
Pallbearers will be Dr. Jim Edwards, Charlie Thompson, Taylor Eidson, Hayes Eidson, Hanson Schultz, Joseph Schultz and Grissom Schultz.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the church.
