Theodore Robert Reed

Theodore Robert Reed, 84, of Vinemont passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008. The family will hold private services. Entombment will be at Cullman Memory Gardens.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Reed was born on Feb. 7, 1924, in Englewood, N.J., to Theodore George Reed and Catherine Wendling Reed. He was an executive at Exxon, retiring on July 1, 1977, after almost 36 years of service. He joined Exxon in 1941 and served in various analytical assignments with the coordination department, now known as corporate planning, and for the coordination committee secretary. During the last 20 years of his career, he was an assistant to the secretaries of the coordination, the board advisory and the investment advisory committees.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Georgianna Reed; a son, Robert (Ann) Reed; two grandchildren, Cathy (Chris) Couch and Karen (Brad) Guthrie; five great-grandchildren, Caitlin Couch, Karson Guthrie, Kyla Guthrie, Kolton Guthrie and Karli Guthrie; and a sister-in-law, Lillian Muller.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Cullman Regional Medical Center Foundation.
