— Graveside services for Thelma Clark Doty of Hoover, Ala., will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 19, 2008, at Bruce City Cemetery in Bruce, Miss.
East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist in Chattanooga are in charge of local arrangements.
Thelma Clark Doty passed away Friday, July 18, in a Chattanooga hospital. She was a member of Homewood Church of Christ in Birmingham. She was a graduate of Draughon Business School in Jackson, Miss., and had worked for 12 years for Protective Life Insurance Company. She was a beloved and devoted mother and grandmother and a friend to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Jefferies Doty Jr.
Survivors include her children, Gail (Lee) Maddux of Chattanooga, Dr. Walter Jefferies (Martha) Doty III of Dothan, Dr. Lynn (Bernie) Kirkland of Birmingham, and Laurabeth (Chris) Sawyer of Cullman; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Wilma (Alvin) Simmons of Mobile; a brother, Ronald (Chris) Clark of Bruce, Miss.; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Martin Boyd Christian Home, 6845 Standifer Gap Road, Chattanooga, TN 37421.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce, Miss.
