Bertha Odell Bateman

Funeral services for Bertha Odell Bateman, 75, of Hanceville will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2008, at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel, Joel Elsworth officiating, with interment in Center Hill Cemetery in Hanceville.

Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Bateman died Saturday, May 3, at her residence. She was born Aug. 4, 1932, in Hanceville to Oscar Hamm and Jessie McCollum Hamm.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her son, Danny Absher.

Survivors include her husband, Huey Ray Bateman; a daughter, Alice (Mike) Sullivan of Vinemont; three sons, Phillip (Linda Burkett) Bateman of Charleston, W.V., Terry Bateman and Jessie (Kathy) Bateman, both of Hanceville; and three grandchildren, James Absher, Aaron Sullivan and Carol Absher.

Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
