Florence Camerata hosts Choral Masterworks March 7

FLORENCE — The Florence Camerata community chorus, with direction from Dr. Ian Loeppky, director of University of North Alabama Choruses, will present Choral Masterworks March 7 at 7:30 p.m. in Norton Auditorium at UNA.

Joined by the UNA Collegiate Singers and the Florence Camerata Masterworks Orchestra as special guests, the Camerata will present two timeless choral masterpieces: the Bach “Magnificat” and the Lauridsen “Lux aeterna.”

Loeppky founded the Florence Camerata, a community chorus for ages 17 and older, in 2006. Its mission is to provide Shoals area audiences with the finest live choral performances and to provide a musical outlet for those in the Shoals area who love to sing.

Tickets are $15 for adults or $8 for students. Purchase in advance at the Kennedy-Douglas Center for the Arts, at www.florencecamerata.com or at the door.

For more information, contact the Department of Music and Theatre at 256-765-5122 or at www.una.edu/music-theatre.
