Little Black Dress 2013: Treat yourself to a good time

money goes to scholarship fund

If you have never attended a Little Black Dress event, this is the year to treat yourself to a good time. Get dressed up, bring your friends, eat a great meal, dance, shop, and help to support a worthy cause. Most of all, have a great time!

This year’s Little Black Dress Charity Bash will be Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at TP Country Club in Cullman. The doors will open at 6:30 p.m., and the event, which begins at 7 p.m., will last until midnight.

This fun evening has grown to become one of the most talked about occasions of the year. There is so much to do and it’s great to see women at their best, socializing and helping to raise money for deserving women attending Wallace State.

Single tickets are $75. Your ticket includes admission for one, a complimentary “Bash” photo by Shannon’s Photography, a wonderful four-course dinner prepared by TP’s excellent chef, eligibility for the grand prize drawing, a delightful “Bash Bag” filled with goodies from area merchants, valet parking, and complimentary wine/beer/beverage during cocktail hour.

Tables of four are available for $300, six people for $450, and for eight the price is $600. Of course, all of the above are included with the price of your table, along with a complimentary bottle of wine, preferred seating, and your choice of a celebrity waiter, exclusively for your table.

This year’s celebrity waiters, who always provide service with a smile as well as lots of laughs, are Ron Burdette, Mike Eckenrod, Dale Greer, Jimmy Hodges, Billy Jackson, Bill Walton, Heath Meherg, Barry McGriff, Kolby Lawrence, Joseph Fischer, Casey Harbin, John Nyquist, Nathan Shedd, Jared Johnston, Scotty Hooper, John Cornett, Rick Peek and Tom “Big Doc” Williamson.

Maître ds include Johnny McMoy, Rob Werner, Greg Nicholas, Mike Ponder, Fred Cespedes and David Wiggins.

The silent auction is always a much anticipated part of this event. This year it will feature hand-painted items by the talented Wallace State students, as well as designer handbags, jewelry, vacations, spa retreats, specialty items and many more great gifts.

And of course, this night is all about dancing. Music will be provided by Kozmic Sound until midnight.

Local merchants displaying exciting spring fashions include Poor Little Rich Girl, Jade Apple, and Better Than Before.

The event is sponsored by the WSCC Alumni Association and all proceeds support scholarships for women enrolled at Wallace State. Last year’s event raised over $22,000 for this worthy cause.

Tickets for this event sell out fast, so you’ll want to make sure to order yours early. Cullman is definitely one place where you never hear the phrase, “All dressed up and nowhere to go.”

Who among us hasn't wondered if pajama pants are OK in the winter? What about clingy, see-through blouses for spring? And now that it's almost summer, what about nightgowns? Specifically, what about midthigh-length, straw-colored cotton nightgowns at work?
